It's intriguing, not for what it is, but for what it means.

There are some minor things I would change about the body, but I think it looks neat. The flashing lights are the big things I'd remove, but other than that I think it's different. It's not retro, everyones been trying to jump on that bandwagon, it's modern, which is where things need to go. We will see if people adapt to it and appreciate it, my guess is most people won't because it's different.

If Pentax include all the tech though, wifi, gps, etc. then maybe they are waking up and understanding what people want now. Maybe Ricoh are listening to us? Which would be odd for sure.

The new interface and button layout is different, but it may work in the end. Once again, going to have to touch feel and smell to come to any conclusions here.

Will wait for more info and to touch it before I make up my mind.

Negativity: I think the lights are dumb. I think the fusion between a 'standard' prism hump and a 'futuristic' grip is aesthetically poor.

Positivity: I'm glad it seems like more people like it then don't like it. If it's an entry level camera I wasn't going to purchase it anyway, so my opinion doesn't matter at all.

The more I look at it, the more I believe this is a hoax. There may be a problem of translation, but the text of the linked page seems to indicate that the images were an anonymous donation.

Or is it on the bottom ??

I m exited to see the full specifications @ Photokina in september!

Pentax K-S1's autofocus is the well-known Safox with 11 focus points of which 9 are cross-type.

P.S.: Don't exit too quickly

Definitely just the AF point selector symbol.

It's the same "push OK-button to switch to AF point selection symbol" as on many other Pentax DSLR. (Even my old K-7 has that).
The only difference I see on K-S1 compared to other Pentax DSLR is that the OK-button is larger and blue.
