They clearly have no idea what their target market actually is and are just throwing everything into it in the hopes that something in there catches on.

They simply target the Young people who don't care that much about technical spécifications and want a cool looking object. Different target than Nikon, for instance

My bad.
True Larry,
But having just come off my (spouse forced) first cruise and surrounded by the usual camera suspects aged 50-150 this might just work well for that crowd as well as the growing number of old flatuses that have taken to I-Pads for the screen resolution. Connectivity has got to be the real deal cause Grandpa and Grandma want to let the kids and grandkids know they're spending every last cent of a perceived inheritance.

Question is, How will it do at Juniors Soccer game?
It will handle the soccer game just fine, but for photos of your lunch you should upgrade to the next model for more megapixels.

LED lights most likely have a deeper meaning. One of them is
- the timer countdown for selfies.
So in most cases they won't work all the time, but will be visual feedback. Same for the lights around the shutter release button;
- most likely green will be to indicate the Photographs mode, and
- red light to indicate the Movie mode.
All this can be even more fun that what we realise now. The visual mismatch is obviously the 50-200 kit lens attached to it. But if redesigned to be sleeker and with more green accents, two new kit lenses can be just perfect for this K-S1.

Yes, a sixth 18-55 kit lens variant is almost certainly what Pentax needs.

Those LED lights should have some important function but what I like more on them is that when you go shooting at night, in groups, you will never get lost!

Apparently Adam has secret information beyond that available on the posted link. As near as I can tell, all of this speculation is based entirely on a few very small undocumented photo illustrations.

If it is tiny, excellent.

Needs to be as small or smaller than a K-x to be really competitive. K-30 size is now too much.

I read on a Hungarian blog that every new K-s1 will come with a white cockapoo and an assortment of flamingo lawn ornaments.

They double as a flashlight.

The Slovenians and Irish say garden gnomes.

Flamingos would be silly.
