Horrible design and absolutely not ergonomic...
I'm not sure I can judge the ergonomics until I hold one. I think it's "interesting".

We all need LED's to show us where to grab the camera.

It's a fairly well-known fact that mirrorless cameras have hen taking share away from DSLRs in Japan and Asia for a while. My guess is that Ricoh has done some market research and found that weight is the main objection. Certainly the first thing my Japanese friends say about my K-01 is "omoi!" - it's heavy.

I'm going to reserve judgment on the ergonomics, but I don't see any huge problems. I don't like the look of the old kit lens on it. They really need to do something about that. It strikes me that it might look more elegant in white.

And yes. Someone please change the misleading title. I can't see how to do it from my phone.

That's because the sensitivity is SOOO high one can shoot in the dark.

Old looks of kit lens need to change.

What the...?!?

Okay, tastes differ, but there would have to be some technical marvels in there for me to get that camera. All right, I'm not in the target group for that model anyway, but I wonder what message an entry model like this (if this is for real) combined with the lack of a FF (unless the rumors about FF are real) will send to the more serious photographers.

I don't understand all the negativity about this. It's the entry level DSLR, and as every gateway drug it has to be shiny, convenient, cheap and not serious. Of course it does nothing for serious addicts those people pining for their FF shot, but the key ingredient is still there: K mount to lead them down the shady path. So I welcome it.

I think it looks very cool, certainly miles better than the K-01. I don't see the point in the lights, I'd rather not have them and have the battery last longer, but if it's real, I think Ricoh should be applauded for innovation and getting away from traditional DSLR design. I like the mode dial on the back.

Without old zoom 18-55 looks not bad.

C'mon...even the staunchest PRIC fanboys have to be scratching their heads with this one. LED decorative lights? If they serve no other purpose then this is going to cement Pentax's joke status.
I take it back, the fanboys will find a way to rationalize it.
About Pentax's joke status I will quote technically incorrect but very fun statement about purpose of those led lights:

"To count down the light-years until the full-frame release :-)"

The design is OK, of course, given it's target audience and the need for the camera to attact attention in store.

But I couldn't resist ...

Looks like we are loosing the AA batteryholder on this one and just the D-Li109 inside.

I like it. I'm guessing that the row of LEDs on the grip is the self-timer countdown, and I'm sure there will be a menu option to turn off the other lights when you want to be discreet. Coupled with a small prime lens, I think it could be a great little take-everywhere camera. If it uses the same sensor as the K-3 it could be awesome.

I agree that the old 18-55mm zoom looks out of proportion on that size body. Something like a much, much cheaper version of the DA20-40mm would probably work better.
