Having use the Nikon V1 and a series of Pentax DSLRs (from K20d to K-3), for fast, consistent AF, I'd take the V1 with 18.5mm F1.8 (50mm EQ) over any of the Pentax bodies with a lens at F5.6 for the stuff that I shoot (moving motorcycles).
I once stuck the V1 on the back of one motorcycle, set it up for interval shooting and let it choose focus as a second motorcycle followed closely behind. The V1 was shockingly good at tracking the second motorcycle and nailing focus with the background pleasantly blurry.
So based on my experience, the V1 is definitely there. YMMV.
