the ricoh gxr totally exists though

And the GXR has a separate processor in the lens unit which takes care of image processing. The other one in the body takes care of storage, screen etc.

And how did that work out for Ricoh?

K-s1 Demo Video
Nice to see. Looks good with a DA-70 mounted.

No AA-filter, Flucard support, glass pentaprism ... a very attractive package.

You can bet that was filmed with the K-3. So much shake and warp in the video footage only the brilliant "Movie SR" could produce that. Are the engineers at Pentax blind or just stupid/lazy?

I don't see what you are talking about. Perhaps you are judging YouTube, not the video production.

I don't know. Have you asked them? I doubt they ever intended such a camera to outsell the mainstream makers. They stopped making units for it, but I think it was mainly a victim of their strategy changing to buying Pentax.

Have you ever used one? It's pretty impressive in terms of design, speed and photographer friendliness.

Look at footage of the back of the camera from 1:00, its especially bad in that cut.

Aside from the rubbish Pentax video quality, the K-S1 does not look too bad in white

There was a small amount of stutter there, probably most noticeable on full-screen with a sizeable monitor, which is how I viewed it. Notwithstanding that, you may be right, and we don't know which camera was used for taking the video.

At least we've now seen what the grip LEDs are for, but the impressive thing about the K-S1 is its small size. The leaked publicity stills don't really do it justice the way this video does.

I like that it has the SR AA of the K-3. Nice move!

He didn't say anything about WR, I think? Well, with The Gap, I wouldn't have expected it
So I think we can assume that this is a below-K-50 offering, despite the glass pentaprism and advanced features.

20MP with no AA filter, full pentaprism, and the styling looks much better in the video than in the stills I've seen so far. And, yes, you can all turn the lights off.

Can't wait to see some sample shots and find out the price. With a bit of marketing behind it, this thing could really sell as a unique alternative to the overcrowded mirrorless market.
