Compare camera dimensions side by side
Because people like you would be very happy with its size?

Yeah, I've got no issues with the K-S1.
As of now, it has my stamp of approval (FWIW)
Plus, you'll save on black tape.

It's not the size, it's how you use it!

I really want more info about the sensor. Bit depth, dynamic range? And just general impressions, some sensors have decent specs but were never liked very much. There are many more properties to a sensor than just MP

I think this is the big thing for now. All other goodies we seen rescent and then a K-mount lens.

But this K-S1 needs a new kitlens that is smaller and folds back when not in use!
Probably a new version called "18-55mm II SMC DA ED" will be available on the new K-S1.
In 2009 a similar version existed (so much better than the actual 18-55 DAL).
Need to be confirmed by the Pentax staff.

When the Sony A3000 came out, people seem to like the image quality and the ISO peformance of the sensor. Of course I hope this is a newer version and that Pentax gets a bit more juice out of it, as they sometimes do.

As far as I know, women don't like to stay in the rain for nothing, not even photography, so, no WR needed. Women has smaller hands than man, so they need a smaller grip. Women always want to be seen equal to men, so, why not handling a camera regarded as a pro, comparing to smartphones or compacts. Counting that Asia, even without Japan, is the biggest market today for DSLR, an is growing rapidly, all we are talking here is pointless, if we don't consider these facts.

So, don't waste your energy to justify individual preferences. Keep it for the next week, when the big BOOM, or booms (camera and lenses), will come.

Ha, ha, it's a joke. ... Or not.

The DA-L is a DA II / DA WR (optically) AFAIK.

If it has a 14-bit RAW I'd be surprised..

The DA L and the DA II are optically identical. The difference is the II has quick shift, a metal mount, and came with a lens hood.
