The previous video advertisement for the K-S1, I thought was really excellent. This email on the other hand was just lame. So now we have book-ended the two extremes. I guess we just need to be thankful that they are even trying to do some marketing - any marketing at all.
I do wish however, that they would pull a 645Z off the production line and use it for shooting their advertising. Even use the tag line - "
Shot with a Pentax 645Z", would get folks talking about it. Then again a K3 should be more than enough for the emailer. If you are going to do something, think all the angles through first and arrange things to get the maximum mileage that you can possibly get.
Since he was from Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation, there is no shortage of attractive women here - out and about. No excuse for using stock imagery. Go find an attractive model - heck use one from the video. This would tie the video and the print/email advertising together. Thinking this through does not cost any more than getting your hand caught in the cookie jar. Pentax does not need any more stupidity.
Gee - I'm just an engineer and here I am talking about marketing, advertising and the like.....
