Pentax K-S1 camera specifications

I was playing around with overlaying the K-S1 pictures on the SL1, K-x, and K-01. I think the K-S1 will certainly look smaller than the SL1, whatever the numbers say. (Something new to argue about! Yay!)

Of more interest (to me, at least) were the similarities between the K-S1 and K-01. The 'snoot' is the same length, the flash hotshoe position is the same, and the grip area is just about the same thickness. I think there's some K-01 DNA in the K-S1. Except for the pentaprism, the K-S1 looks a lot like what I thought a "squeezed" K-01 with a D-Li109 battery would look like.

20MP is a big market mistake while Nikon uses 24MP for a long time....

Is it? I believed Sony just released a 12 MP FF camera, and every digital pundit raves about it.
So why would 20MP in an APS-C be an obstacle, considering that half the industry (Oly, Panasonic, Fuji, Leica) is still on the good ol' 16 MP?

I don't see a problem in using 20MP, but the 20MP Sony sensor is most likely a low specified sensor in many ways.
So FI FPS might get lower on K-S1 than it is on K500. (other cameras using Sony 20MP has 3-4 FPS).

Sony doesn't use anymore this sensor (A5100 f.e.). Nikon use 24MP in the cheap D3300. So where is the problem with Pentax?

20 MP for entry level APS-C (Sony A3000/A3500, Sony Alpha 5000) is OK. 20MP is even good enough for popular full-frames (Canon 6D).

It all depends on how the sensor performs.

That is hard to say. This K-S1 is after all a rumor as are its specs. It may be a prototype or it may be a prank or it may be disinformation.

OMD has no mirror and EVF.

Just one thing from me:

In comparing this size-wise to the SL1, people have mentioned prism vs mirror viewfinders, and also Pentax's inclusion of SR.

Don't forget the AF screwdrive motor!
