20MP sensor huh...

120mm x 92.5mm x 69.5mm vs SL1 at 117 x 91 x 69 mm
So technically as small, but not smaller than the SL1

No it's not a complaint, just an observation. The SL1 is the smallest dlsr on market right now, so getting that close is good enough in my opinion.

I don't know what the SL1 is like, but earlier Rebels I tried felt really poorly constructed. I hope the K-S1 feels as good as previous Pentax entry-level models.

Think of a lighter Rebel lol. The k-x is similarly sized, but feels a ton tougher. I'm guessing the K-S1 will continue that tradition.

By 3x1.5x0.5mm - with SR and 100% pentaprism. Wow.
I wonder if it still has the typical Pentax stainless steel chassis (quite likely)

L.E. The SL1 is an empty miniature plastic camera shell somehow capable of taking pictures

I think the K-S1 may turn out to be a hair larger than the SL1 in overall dimensions, but actually take up less volume because of the shape of the body and grip.

In specs, the K-S1 does look like a worthy successor to the K-m/K-x "minis". I wonder if it will have focus points in the viewer? The LCD in the back view seems to display the selected focus point, which would be a step up from no focus points at all.

Insignificantly larger (spec sheet comparing - I agree about the volume), but heavier. SR + pentaprism + better construction (anything is better built than an entry level Canon!)

I compared it(SL1) in a shop with K30..SL1 feels as heavy as 17-50/2.8 zoom and it feels lighter than Canon G12 , SL1 is like an empty case.

SL1 doesn't have any grip but it has nice button layout..

As long as it's WR, its okay in my books. Pentax just shouldn't sell non WR cameras or lenses, to keep everything smile of consumers.

If it is WR, it would say so.

The K-x was a nice size for me! It felt sturdy but wasn't a brick.

I still think the design looks like a networking appliance though.

20MP sensor? Is that from Sony? Does this mean Pentax would use Sony's sensor in the A7 then in the future? (see what I did there wink wink nudge nudge)

Looks at DSL router...Looks back at camera...Looks at router again. It is obvious! The K-S1 is a wireless router posing as a camera!
