Which users? Certainly they do not listen to the users here. That does not necessarily mean they don't listen to other users.............

Which might give you some indication that what people here want may never come to be, since we are no longer the targeted user group.

The poll results are interesting. I'd like the best of all worlds please: A k-mount, Full-Frame Pentax with the name Ricoh on the back if at all, with 8.3 fps (like a K-3) with the same sensor technology as in a K-3, with 2 card slots, as for a K-3, with built-in wifi and a touch-screen rear LCD screen and nice deep grips for my big hands. And, would it be too much to ask for 10 user programmable pre-sets and firmware update safeguards so that, if a firmware update fails, the machine reverts to it's previous firmware setting? (Like my HP laptop bios updates work)

Or read the objective charts on Lenstip/Optyczne, and disregard the subjective commentary.
Yes. I asked for a glowing review and you give me a 3.5 star review. Like I said. Average.

Then how should we rate Sigma and Tamron 17-50, Pentax 16-50, 17-70 Contemporary pentax 17-70 and a like? optically poor?
The Sigma, Tamron and Pentax are faster and have wider zoom ranges. The narrower the zoom range the higher my expectations. The slower the lens the higher my expectations. I have higher expectations of primes than I do of zooms. I practically always buy and use primes since most zooms fall short of my expectations. The last zoom I owned was a ZD 35-100 F/2 for my E-3.

The new 40-150 Precision camera discloses full Olympus 40-150mm lens details! | 43 Rumors might have back shooting Olympus. Olympus is really turning out good glass.

Same with Fuji.

The 50-140 F/2.8 Fuji is very interesting. I will be waiting to see some reviews.

Interesting, but bulky and heavy for mirrorless design....

Nothing to do really with Pentax or FF for that matter, but I believe the counter on front page is off by one hour (for my timezone). Photokina as per their home page is open for visitiors from 10AM CET tomorrow. This is 11AM Cyprus time so that would be in about 23.5 hours and not 24.5 as displayed. Might be important for people preparing for an early charge.

"Imagine: Under Engineering"

Imagine there's no products
It's easy if you try
No prototypes below us
Above us only colors of pie

Imagine all the lenses
Arriving here today

Imagine there's no announcements
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to spend money, or want for
And no full frame, too

Imagine all the products
Under engineering

Ricoh, you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will surprise us
And Pentax will be as one

Imagine no new products
I wonder if you can
No need for speed or wonder
A rebadged lineup of blah

(refrain)
Imagine all the products
Under engineering

Ricoh, you may say I'm a FF dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will surprise us
And Pentax will live as one

P.S. You know I <3 you Pentax!

Why do you think the review is a 3.5 star? The build quality is excellent. The AF motor is fast and quiet. What is bringing the review down to 3.5 stars? Everything about the lens is excellent except the optics which are average.

Is already a slow lens, and you still have to stop it down to get excellent sharpness. That not a good thing. The review agrees with what I said earlier. It is best at 30mm and stopped down.... I'll just stick with the 31mm.

Couldn't they have made up some better-looking placeholders?! Has anyone in that shop heard of computer graphics?

No, you should read the review:

"Expensive for a variable aperture standard zoom
Odd zoom range is not really very wide, nor very telephoto
Neither focus or zoom are performed internally"

These are typical technogeek complaints that have nothing to do with the excellent photographic potential of the lens.
