Originally posted by ogl Ricoh offers rather pale products this Photokina if we compare with Samsung, Canon, Panasonic, Nikon.
Future Zooms? Pentax could make HQ zooms many years ago, but not now. Pentax could make FIXED lenses.
But Fuji makes now fixed lenses which could made by Pentax.
No really new DSLR, no any fast and interesting lens, no HQ compacts.
Maybe someday...This Photokina indicates that Ricoh is in some crisis in terms of ideas.
have a look at announcement from other brand...it's really STRONG moves. Ricoh is pale.
Let me check what Pentax has in primes:
DA14 f/2.8 DA15 f/4, DA21 f/3.2, FA31 f/1.8, DA35 f/2.4, DA35 f/2.8, FA35 f/2, DA40 f/2, FA43 f/1.9, DFA50 f/2.8, FA50 f/1.4, FA50 f/1.7, DA50 f/1.8, DA*55 f/1.4, DA70 f/2.4, FA77 f/1.8, DFA100 f/2.8, DA*200 f/2.8, DA*300 f/4, DA560 f/5.6
Let me check what Pentax has in zooms:
DA10-17 f/3.5-4.5, DA12-24 f/4, DA16-45 f/4, DA16-50 f/2.8, DA17-70 f/4, DA18-55 f/3.5-5.6, DA20-40 f/2.8-4, DA50-135 f/2.8, DA50-200, DA55-300 f/3.5-5.8, DA60-250 f/4
And there also the TC 1.4
Let's check Fuji primes:
14mm f/2.8, 18mm f/2, 23mm f/1.4, 27mm f/2.8, 35mm f/1.4, 56mm f/1.2, 60mm f/2.4
And Fuji zoom: 18-55 f/2.8-4, 18-135 f/3.5-5.6, 55-200 f/3.5-4.8
Can you understand why Fuji has a big lens problem while Pentax has almost anything needed? They could continue just put HD coatings to all the lines and maybe create one DA24 f/2 as their only activity in lenses for the next 5 years that would still have a far better and more diverse lens offering than Fuji !
DSLR ? Again 645Z, K-S1.
