I've no idea, but as we seem to be looking at a very Japan-focused company, perhaps we'll see something new and unexpected from the Ricoh camp, maybe the Ricoh Izanagi aka "My Pet Endoscope" - a trendy accessory with a flashing green light at the end so that owners of the new K-S1 can show one another that they Just Get It (TM) simply by opening their mouths.

I'd like to see a new kit lens with a more svelte design and a full motor on board. The olde wolde one on the K-S1 looks a bit out of place and lets the side down, imho.

I'd like to see an announcement that in future all Ricoh cameras will have wifi onboard together with a first-class tablet/phone app free in the box. Also an announcement that in future video will be seen as a key feature of every camera with steps taken to offer best in class video performances/features on cameras from 2015 on.

Maybe steps taken to link up with media providers so that getting your images onto a huge range of items from greeting cards or jigsaw puzzles to clothing or cups is much easier if you have Ricoh equipment - direct interfaces to selected vendors via the Ricoh websites if you are a registered member, for example.

More ambassadors, but this time folks who carry a bit of weight (er, figuratively speaking) and will add some lustre to the brand. Not celebs or phoney pro photographers but just folks whose success in their field marks them out as fine people to emulate. Like food photography, for example? A champion baker or sushi chef singing the praises of Pentax will carry more weight than yet another internet-based photography pundit who is "all about me". TBH, Ricoh could do a lot worse than revive that famous 1960s advertising campaign built around "David Bailey's Pentax" - or whoever's Pentax.

A new iteration of the Ricoh GR or an addition to the GR range would be welcome. A GR with WR would be even better considering it is partly a camera for street photography.

A revised lens roadmap which makes it clear that the APS-C catalogue is going to be revised and updated all around and the revisions will be timely (not one a year).

I'm not expecting big things like a new mirrorless system or an FF system any time soon, if at any time at all, and not really any of the above either ... I think this fair is going to be all about the K-S1 and the 645z, so it won't hold much of interest for those forum members whose territory is upmarket APS-C. Maybe a new DA telephoto, though.

In my vote I included the full frame mirrorless not because I think we'd see it, but because that would be incredibly neat. Especially since (unlike the normal full frame market) the full frame mirrorless market is pretty damn new and Pentax could REALLY make an impression there.

Other.

I predict they'll open yet another tin of disappointment.

We all know what Pentaxians want, they know what Pentaxians want, but will it appear? It looks not.

We have LED's though, be of good chear, Ricoh has a plan.

The reason why I believe there will be a full frame released is because Sony, the likely supplier, has already gone to market with a FF sensor, started discounting the camera flag shipping with the sensor and have now released a new FF camera with differing sensor specs (filming specs).

The K-S1 is the entry level - the K-F1 is the prosumer level.

I really want that FF sensor to use with my Pentax glass. And I think it would not be too complex for them to gain a quite huge part of the cake ... I mean, copy the Sony A7 with the 24MP sensor, add a more silent shutter, add WR and done. ... hell if they like they could bring a new mount with a shorter flange distance but with a K-Mount compatible WR Adapter supporting AF on SDM and screw-driven lenses, I think that adapter solution would not be too much of an issue. But bring out that FF cam!!!11eleven

Doesn't matter what they present, even if it should be both an FF DSLR and a mirrorless FF as well as an FF 645 and complete, new lens line-ups for both. It won't be what we* want. And it will be too expensive.

In K-APSC they might announce a mid range model to turn heads away from Fuji and bring an alternative emphasising the compactness of the limited series, now with WR.

Another approach here might really be a upscaled Q, as a legit successor of of the Rich GXR, somehow modular, but no idea if new mount, lensors or modular mount.

And probably an addition to the GR, a 35mm version maybe.

All this things would actually be on my wishlist and even if not completely unlikely my guessing was more wishing in this case, for this year's photokina at least.

I like the way that 40% of people don't expect an entry level dslr to be announced

Because they believe it will be presented BEFORE Photokina?

Well that's sailing a long reach - but OK.

If I've learnt anything from following Pentax speculation / rumour threads over the years its this:

1. Pentax doesn't do radical surprises
2. Pentax doesn't exceed reasonable expectations

Generally you can take a Pentax rumour dial it down a couple of notches until you hit the 'satisfactory' level and you'll be in the right ballpark.

Realistically, I expect announcements of a new entry-level DSLR (K-S1?), a new mid-level DSLR (K-60? K-70?), and maybe some lenses. The K-3 is too new to be replaced just yet, and I'm not getting my hopes up about FF.
