In my vote I included the full frame mirrorless not because I think we'd see it, but because that would be incredibly neat. Especially since (unlike the normal full frame market) the full frame mirrorless market is pretty damn new and Pentax could REALLY make an impression there.
My sentiments are similar, and Pentax/Ricoh are just the quirky ones to pull it off. I expect a prototype with no specific date attached, sadly

I think that's right. And the K5IIs is too good to discontinue.

I agree with you two. I think Fuji is Pentax's most similar competitor and they are gradually sorting out their issues. But Pentax has no mirrorless competitor of the aps size like Fuji. Pentax needs that alternative for the future, IMO. Sure, they can keep on making DSLRs, but not to enter the mirrorless other than the Q, is a mistake, IMO. We need a follow-up to the K01.

In one of the interviews (I think Imaging Resource) the Exec admitted they had missed an opportunity in MILC - and they were developing a response.

It's certainly about time we saw prototypes or at least got the actual focal lengths for these lenses. So that's quite possible I would think. I doubt any will be announced with imminent availability though.

I don't remember seeing this, could you please link to the interview? (it's not distrust, I'd just like to see the exact wording)

I'll try - but like I wrote, I think and it was just one line in a long article.

I think we pretty much have everything we know going into Photokina.
Having come off the 645z, I don't think the top tier dSLR folks are ready to roll out anything.

Maybe a compact with a Ricoh name on it. Aside from the GR and Theta, we don't have a new Ricoh product and I can't wait to see what the Ricoh brain trust comes up with.

I'm ready for surprises though.

They're DOOMED. They'll have to make an integrated modular mirrorless DSLR with 3 different mounts one on top of another, interchangeable sensors (with every possible option from medium format to 1"), smaller than the Q but with a grip suitable to large hands. It will have to allow us to use every K-mount lens ever made, and force us to buy new lenses. And it will have to look exactly like a Fuji, yet be unique.
All their engineers would commit seppuku minutes after the sellout.

Aren't they too late for that? Sony has that niche overly covered with 3 still cameras and a video camera, no less. They would be better off just announcing a PK to FE AF adapter.

They'll probably announce some entry level DSLR. Or a mid range DSLR based on the K-3 sensor. Meh...

I won't vote - the poll is more science fiction than realistic predictions - but I keep wondering, if the K-S1 will indeed be announced tomorrow, doesn't that leave room for another DSLR camera?
(no, I'm NOT talking about a FF).

I have a feeling Ricoh won't announce an FF camera, if every they do, until they have completed whatever it is they've been doing behind the scenes by way of redoing how they design and manufacture their photography products. Possibly also where they do it if a new factory is involved. If so, the logic of that points to their working up the scale, so next up is the mid-ranger with WR and perhaps 24 mpx to replace the D-50. But as always, who knows. What I'd really like is a new GR.
