"Imagine: Under Engineering"

P.S. You know I <3 you Pentax!
After 3 years they don't even have drawings of what they are working on? No mock-ups made from foam?

No, you should read the review:

"Expensive for a variable aperture standard zoom
Odd zoom range is not really very wide, nor very telephoto
Neither focus or zoom are performed internally"

These are typical technogeek complaints that have nothing to do with the excellent photographic potential of the lens.
Enjoy your lens.

They will most likely have prototypes under glass - and Adam promised to have pictures by tomorrow. The "kit zoom" is in advanced development, the other two unknown (it will be interesting to see how much they'll tell about them right now ).
But it's so easy to jump to negative conclusions... because PentaxIsDoomed!

Why do you think the review is a 3.5 star? The build quality is excellent. The AF motor is fast and quiet. What is bringing the review down to 3.5 stars? Everything about the lens is excellent except the optics which are average.
This is not what they say, it get 4 stars for performance (so optics) and handling but 2.5 as value for money and 3 for features.

And honestly better for a 1200€ prime like FA31 ltd to perform better than a zoom. You are not objective here.

Ricoh offers rather pale products this Photokina if we compare with Samsung, Canon, Panasonic, Nikon.

Future Zooms? Pentax could make HQ zooms many years ago, but not now. Pentax could make FIXED lenses.
But Fuji makes now fixed lenses which could made by Pentax.

No really new DSLR, no any fast and interesting lens, no HQ compacts.
Maybe someday...This Photokina indicates that Ricoh is in some crisis in terms of ideas.

have a look at announcement from other brand...it's really STRONG moves. Ricoh is pale.

"Laughing like the dog at the fair." Is a Dutch saying that applies here. Hope it translates.

Couldn't they have made up some better-looking placeholders?! Has anyone in that shop heard of computer graphics?
I think those are just for before the show opens. Doubtful those little signs will be there when the doors officially open.

Sell your gear (cheap) and go with a better company. Problem solved.

Posts like this start to look like a veiled form of personal attack and subtle forum censorship. We don't need that, IMHO.

...the Pentax Ricoh K-3 999 color variations; the old DA lenses repainted 999 color variations, + plastic mount is more expensive...

Yes, telling someone to sell their Pentax gear and, by implication, go away from this forum is a personal attack of some sort.

Christ. Maybe I'll just come back when all the hysteria calms down.
