Ricoh WG-M1

Howdy,

Another pre-Photokina leak - some specs and an image for the strange-looking Ricoh WG-M1.

1/2.3" CMOS sensor, lens with AoV of 160 degrees, rugged, "endless videos" - sounds like a GoPro competitor.
Ah, and build-in WiFi and remote control using a smartphone.

It's so strange looking that I want one!

Cool. I'll probably get one!
Although my WG-3 is a failure at video.
Hopefully they fixed "whatever" inside.

That is a smart design for under-water usage, a much native way to hold and view the screen when diving. Love it!

It will be hard to beat GoPro (which has almost a cult following, especially due to its size and ruggedness), but this looks really interesting.

I like the look, really cool.
I wonder if the lens can be rotated ? because it says "Angle of view can be selected from the wide, medium, narrow, underwater". It will be perfect companion for divers.

Very smart design for bikers as well. You can set it up on the bar and control it very easily from there watching at the screen from the most natural position.

GoPro has a digital crop that does this as well, but the Ricoh has a sliding lock switch that I think can rotate the lens view along the axis of the body for mounting purposes...

Are we seeing the fleshing out of a unified camera naming convention?

[mount/form factor] - [primary mode: S = still; M = movie][level]

Didn't read any description or text, but just based on owning a W-3 and looking at the styling elements in the picture, I'd say this is real.
