Any way sensor is to small. I'll stick to my GR(also pocket size) thank you (:
Just go to Flickr and compare the number of people using the iPhone compared to any compact camera.

The top 5 cameras are 4 iPhones and the Soccer Mom Canon T3i.

As a company Pentax is 10th, Ricoh is 20th.

you call iPhone 6 compact? ((((:
Exactly. That screen and bezel on top look like they're from a wristwatch. Is it meant to be worn on the wrist like a wristwatch?

If true it would likely have accessories released with it, like a handlebar mount and suction mount. Looks cool. I don't think this segment of the camera market is going away any time soon. Why let GoPro have all the fun & profit!!
The current marketvalue of GoPro is just under 8 billion $

https://www.google.com/finance?q=GPRO

So Ricoh in total is 8 % more value in the market then that tiny GoPro.

It has potential for sure. The frame rate needs some improvement to be taken seriously but maybe the next version will do 60 (or more).

This is actually really cool, completely usable. Makes me wonder why they didn't allow 60 FPS in 1080p? Or at least 720?

If it's the same as de Kodak pixpro 1 then these are the resolutions and rates:

1920x1080 (30fps), 1280x960 (50fps), 1280x960 (30fps), 1280x720 (60fps), 1280x720 (30fps), 848x480 (60fps)
High-Speed Movie: 848x480 (120fps)

According to GoPro's founder, most of their advertising comes from their user base. The only thing they really sped money on is the airtime and sponsorships. Content is almost entirely user created. Maybe Pentax should go this route with user created content.
That would be difficult. Pentax users are too busy bashing the brand and Pentax products on various fora to be able to spend some time creating useable content.

Those are not Pentax-users, they are Pentaxforums.com users. Their Pentax stays in the bag

If I had time for much adventuring, I'm getting one of these as soon as I can, even based on looks alone. Awesome design! I hope the specs are a little better to compete well with GoPro. But in any case, Ricoh designers should be having a field day in their office. Lots of designing liberty they're getting with their new designs (Q-S1, K-S1, and this)

also, PENTAX IS DOOOOOOOOMED!!
just to mention it

My point exactly.
So for every one who's repeats mantra ;"pentax is doomed" try to change "pentax" to "photography" and start screaming in fear...

I've got a Gopro. Honestly what makes Gopro special are the attachments. You keep the camera in a basically disposable case that comes sealed or unsealed for sound quality. It has attachments for just about anything. The suction mount I've used on my motorcycle a bunch of times and stuck to the bottom of a cessna, never fell off. Attachments are very reasonable for the Gopro. Video quality is "ok" on the original one I have but the newer models look better. I honestly think what makes Gopro keep market share are the attachments and the separate case so if you do smash it (you probably will!) you can just buy 30 bucks worth of parts and back at it. Hopefully the competition brings down the gopro's price. It's pretty expensive for what it is.

The key to these types of camera's are decent enough video, loads of attachments and not to expensive that you aren't afraid to strap it to an RC plane, motorcycle, boat or machine gun and capture stuff that would destroy a normal camera. Gopro's are pretty well proven at this point and incredibly tough.
