I don't know if it's your post processing, but the two images you posted got quite a lot of "snap" to them. They look great.

Nice - wasn't quite sure because the thread temporarily derailed into some field curvature discussion with sample pictures of other lenses.

I'm thinking that it'd be the perfect upgrade from my 18-55 WR kit, because I spend a lot of time in adverse conditions (WR), like to shoot landscapes and don't have a dedicated WA yet (16 mm) and would like some silent, internal focussing.

Have you used the lens in the field yet? What are your first impressions? Is the image quality significantly better compared to the 18-135?

If anyone needs a translation of specific parts, I'd be glad to help

Thank you for the link. The apparent absence of lateral chromatic aberration is a blessing. I am copying hereunder the maximal aperture according to the focal length:
  • 16mm - 20mm = f/3.5
  • 21mm - 30mm = f/4
  • 31mm - 67mm = f/4.5
  • 68mm - 85mm = f/5.6

The skewed vignetting on FF,
especially towards the 85mm end,
suggests there might be some decentering.

With all this talk about decentering, how do you guys deal with it? Do you increase the aperture to have a better depth of field?

Hmmh, "corners not impressive", "not for pixel peepers", and "fine as a vacation lens" does not sound very confidence inspiring.

The text explains that the PK-EOS adapter rotates the lens 45 degrees and that there is a rectangular opening at the lens that hence is not oriented correctly anymore.

So no indication of decentering, but an artefact of the adapter.
