The High Magnification Super Zoom / Tele Zoom : http://news.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/rim_info/3_telephotozoomlens_photokina2014.jpg seems to have four buttons:

- zoom lock on top (in the picture below)
- focus lock in the middle (the round one)
- AF/MF switch and focus limiter on the bottom.
Couldn't one be a SR on/off switch? I believe there were hints that in-lens stabilization wouldn't be limited to the DA645 28-45, but might find its way to K-mount? If so, that would make this one a real winner because it would give us a stabilized view finder!

Hmmm... I'm pleasantly surprised. Seems like a very good replacement for my trusty 18-135. The long end of that goes mostly unused. (As with many.) And it's named "Pentax" too. Were they intimidated by the users responses to leaving Pentax off the HD ltds?

Indeed it could but I would see that as an odd move from Ricoh's part.

We've discussed over and over again whether the K-mount is suitable for a full frame body with IBIS. I wouldn't be surprised if Pentax has decided to go for in-lens stabilization for an upcoming FF camera. Another bonus would be that the body could be lighter and smaller (and before anybody says "but... the lenses will be bigger!" - it would still be great to have a compact and lightweight body when using small primes like the FA limited).

Each to his own, of course, but personally, I do see a big difference between the 24mm and 28mm equivalent fields of view. My favourite lens on my Z1p was the A 24mm f2.8; my 28mm never had a look in.

IBIS is possible in FF but would probably be more limited to shorter distances. (vignetting) So it would make sense to put SR in telezooms but keep ibis for the rest of the lenses. it's really a best of two worlds situation. Every lens is stabilized whether in body or in lens.

I call dibs on the first 100-450mm in Australia... My sigma 100-300mm f/4 that does not have a focus limiter has been really bugging me lately.
I am not the original poster of that text although I may have quoted it.

From the roadmap that larger lens looks to be a 120-380. Why are people suddenly referring to it as a 450?

Looking at the photos I expect the 16-85mm will be upscale from the 18-135mm, with more correcting elements, a larger diameter barrel for lower vignetting, considerably heavier and pricier.

Does anyone know what the lens diameter is? It kinda looks like a 67mm thread to me, and if so, is pretty large for a slow zoom (which means better lens design hopefully)!

I expect these lenses to be included in the PF interview for Ricoh reps (if there will be one). I doubt Ricoh would release any info about them on the get-go, but maybe the PF coverage team at Photokina can manage to get a slip of the tongue or something lol

Also, those other to lenses are pretty sexy I'm my opinion. As long as that fast zoom is faster than f4, I will be purchasing it in a heartbeat!

... But then the mythical FF would offer no stabilization for the FA Limiteds, DFA 100 macro, etc. We'd go from "Pentax is superior because all lenses are stabilized by IBIS" to "all these pancakes in the lens catalog are obsolete".

Yeah i would say so ; the 18-135 and 18-250 being 62mm filtered.

The gold-ring lens which we assume is the 70-200 is listed as the "High magnification super-telephoto zoom lens", on the Ricoh site with the other larger lens listed as the "Large-diameter telephoto"...

Are they playing games, or are we wrong?
