From PF Photokina interview

QuoteQuote:
#19. As you indicated in previous interviews, are you still considering expanding the K-mount camera system to use sensors larger than APS-C?
This is a question that we cannot disclose, but as I said in the 645Z questions, we think that the 645Z is one of our answers toward the high-end of customers.

At the same time, we know that the full-frame market is growing. So, our engineers are engaged in the development of full-frames, but with the question of when to launch/release the product, we will want to carefully study the market trend.

So, nothing is confirmed

Well, it is the way the new people communicate.
In some ways, it aint real until it hits FB...
That seems very true.
Even during the current Ukrainian conflict, for example, all the official news coming from the Ukrainian Prime Minister and the Ukie Security Council spokesman were coming out exclusively (it seems) via their FB pages.
Bizarre.

At least some comment is 'under development' and not 'under engineer'

Some degree better, yes ?

I got 'nearsighted nellie' and 'lady loose element' and 'lusty but dusty' but then I got 'sledgehammer' and 'sleeper'

My stable is properly diverse. Can't have things any other way.

If I remember well, is a progress over the last interview. It's under development. Of course they can't tell many months ahead when will be launched, until the camera is at least in a prototype stage, like the 645z was last fall.

A 'mini-645Z', complete with the same flippy screen borrowed from the 645Z parts bin, would be an excellent outcome for a new Pentax FF. Nikon D750 watch out

I found myself thinking the same thing as I read the interview.

Sooner or later the Ricoh GXR concept is going to find it's way into a Pentax product. Perhaps a FF modular is a possibility?

No it won't. That failure is in the past.

I don't believe for a second that a Pentax FF Camera is under development.

I do however believe 100% that a Pentax FF Camera is Under Engineering.

Yes, "under development" could simply mean "we've gotten a sheet of paper to start drawing on. Now where's that pencil...?"

I only have maybe 2 lenses that would work on it, so I'm not interested.

They are developing a mirror that will flap only once per picture this time.

Would a FF mirror which flap be a crazier mirror than an aps-c one?

Perhaps I should have used the word "experience" instead of "concept" as that is what I meant to say.

I would not expect any FF camera to come with a new/different sensor with each lens but I can see the benefits of a modular system that can be both mirrorless and DSLR.

There are three interesting parts in the answer about FF.

Quote: ''This is a question that we cannot disclose, but as I said in the 645Z questions, we think that the 645Z is one of our answers toward the high-end of customers.

Yes, nothing is confirmed. "under development" in business parlance is just a non confirmatory statement meaning we might or might not be thinking/doing anything about it.
