But some DA lenses are FF.
But this is the issue they will have, why they did not label them as D-FA in the first place (DA35 f2.4, DA40, DA50, DA70).

It will just lead to confusion in the future IF/WHEN they release a FF camera....

It wouldn't surprise if full frame comes next year, but I don't really see this an official announcement. I also don't believe that everyone will be happy when it comes. The mirrorless folks will be upset because it keeps the k mount and doesn't include an EVF, which is the wave of the future. More people will be upset because it is priced in the 2500 dollar range and spec-ed closer to a D810 than a 6D.

Oh well, there wouldn't be a forum here without sour grapes, would there?
I take it on faith that there could be a forum without sour grapes, but I really can't imagine it.

Sorry, I thought this was the "This Old House" forum, not the "This Old Camera" forum.
See the film section. That is where all the FF Pentaxians hang out.

Nah.. It was due to the cost. same chip done right on Contax ND.
Have you ever read the reviews of the Contax ND? It tanked because of the chip.

DA 35 2.4, for example, mind you it's soft on the edges on APS-c , imagine what they'd be like on FF.
But...but...but...it is the same as the FA 35/2! I read it here on Pentax Forums!

Steve

(...in the process of evaluating the DA 50/1.8 for FF on film...we will see...)

I read that that too that the DA35 f2.4 is based on the FA35, the DA50 based on the FA50 f1.7.......

Well hold on folks. For those of us that speak French it is actually just inference. On peut imaginer qu'il s'agit probablement........de 24mm par 36mm doesn't quite reconcile with an unsubstantiated 'official' recognition that full frame is on the way. What the article actually says is what everyone else has said - 'we think they look like full frame lenses'. That's quite different to being official. Surely though it would be fruitless for Ricoh top bods to dodge the questions this time when they are presented.

Is it "le" confusion or "la" confusion?

I think that 16-85 is for APS-C only.

It will be good if finally, the Ricoh representative will open their mouth and tell us, respectively to Adam something clear about this unicorn. Until this, I will wait. Hopefully, not many days.

I actually never said that Pentax promised FF every year. I specifically said that they DIDN'T promise FF, just fueled rumors. Key difference. And the self evident fact is that if Pentax didn't want rumors out there before now from it's proxies or employees they've had the simple expedient of officially saying
a) 'Nope, sticking with APS-C until further notice. We'll let you know. Thanks.'
or
b) 'Aw yeah, FF all day evee day buoyeee! Peep dis prototype.' Sorry, it amuses me to imagine the head of Pentax speaking in a Flava Flav voice.

So we'll do this dance. Again. Months of threads, parsing and re-parsing precious little actual data, a handful of purchasers hold off on making a move, waiting to see. Which is the point. It's a delaying tactic. Oh, eventually, they'll release something, because they won't have an option, and all of the faithful will say "You see? We told you so!" But right now, today, I'd bet a pretty hefty amount of money that nothing approaching a prototype product exists, nor will it exist, for a significant period of time.

Gentleman's wager on seeing any official proof of a Pentax FF body in the 2013 calender year? Loser puts '[Winner's handle] is always right.' in their signature for a year.
From the last time it was 'really true and official!'.

"La" ... la , la, la ...
It figures confusion would be feminine. French makes sense on so many levels English just doesn't approach.

I thought it was the language of love
Being a bit vague and open ended seems to be part of the love dialect
Not sure about the consumer electronics dialect...
It was late afternoon at an international convention.
Who knows which language they were gearing up to speak.
