I agree there should be at least an affordable kit lense you could get bundled with the body like a 24-105 f/3.5-5.6 ... Maybe 500€ when you get it alone, but only 200-300 when you get it with the body. The Canon one has OS (not necessary on Pentax body) but look like it perform quite well already (look like on part or better than a 16-85 or 17-70 on APSC). That would be a nice entry level lense for FF.

And I suppose at some point you'd want a 70-300 f/4-5.6 entry level zoom to complement it.

Unless they go wit ha kit prime, like back in the day. I'd be happy with kit options, similar to how back in the day the body could come with either a 50mm 1.2, 1.4, 1.8, or 2.0 (and 2.2 if you go back far enough.) I'd take a nice and fast kit prime over a zoom any day.

How about two options? A kit prime (50 f/1.4 probably D-FA version of FA 50 1.4, with modern coating and a DC motor) and a kit zoom (maybe 24/28-70 f/4). Something for everyone.

I was browsing through the rangefinder forum when I happened upon this statement. I't seems pure conjecture at this point, but one can hope. Regardless 2015 it's going to be an exciting year for Pentax.

"The FF is coming in 2015, in testing now. There will be a whole new line up of lens to accompany it, including new Limited. My friend is an engineer of Ricoh Japan."

It seems the rumor was true....as for the new limiteds we're gonna have to wait and see...

New limited doesn't mean an update to the old one. On the contrary thoses 3 are already quite nice while the line up of FF prime is quite "limited" now. So I hope this mean they plan on making a 24 and 135mm ltd or something like that !

Only when the line up is complete should they update the existing one... At least for me.

Any idea about wide / standard FF zooms? I suspect they will take a while.

The September 2014 roadmap, which they're still showing on the Ricoh mother ship,
has a 14-25mm (or thereabouts) "DA wide zoom".

It would be interesting to see it morph into a D-FA lens
that could be a Nikon 14-24/2.8 rival,
although we might still want a smaller crop version.

February 2015 Roadmap says nothing about new limiteds, but.......:

Was the FA 35mm f2 on any recent roadmaps?

I can't remember it ever being on there.

I am pretty sure, It was "always" there - has been available in the shops as long as I can rememeber. First B&H review dates back to 2007:

So next DFA should something like 24-70/2.8 and 28-105/? (3.5-4.5 or /4 would be ideal of course).
DFA 15-30/4 or so would go for WA market. Next: primes.

Seems good enough to me.

I know the lens has always been around (I have had one for years), I just can't remember seeing it on the roadmap recently.

Ah well, maybe it's just old age.

Nah, It's been absent from the roadmap for ages, hence why people were always speculating it was discontinued!

I agree, with the new FF coming up, Pentax will have to go back to the classic focal lengths, 24mm 50mm 135mm. Updating the Fa* 24mm with newer coating and round blades should be easy enough. The -F/Fa 135mm are still excellent lenses, better coating for better CA control would make me buy them again. It seems Pentax is putting a big emphasis on their rugged, weather sealed bodies lenses and accessories, they're weatherproofing everything. I think that very soon all their lenses will have WR on them. As for the 50mm category, I'm happy with my Da* 55mm, it should perform well on the new FF.

I also heard rumors that the price point of the new 36 MP FF will be around $2100, but we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks for that, I was beginning to worry a bit there.
