I was just reacting to the idea of being blown out of a chair. No cynicism here - I recently bought the DA 300mm and 100mm macro and couldn't be more happy!

Tamron would be OK. The Tamron and Pentax lens factories are only a few kms apart in Hanoi. Easy to organise production sharing.

OK, Tamron is not bad also. I used it previous month on D750 body. Excellent but not brilliant. At least it won't be too expensive which is good for a kit lens.

The new 24-70 will be an in house design. Pure Pentax. The wide zoom may be the Tamron 15-30 formula licensed from Tamron. (but that is not definitive it's just conjecture)

Well it won't be a $2000 lens then, more like a kit to sell with the FF and they just should drop SDM (the term not the drive)I'm sure it has the tamron USD then. SDM will be broken before it leaves the shop in Pentaxians minds.
