That's about $1100 in USD but the AU prices were up around $1700 or so not long ago weren't they? Any idea why the drop? I wonder if that's going to happen elsewhere? I'm just about to order one here.

More like US$1100 as exchange rate is approaching 0.95c.
Of couse our price includes 10% tax which is not charged on exports.
Probably just over US$1000 which you can get in US now for K20D.

Canon and Nikon have this week reduced their prices in Oz for similar cameras by around AU$300 - Pentax appears to be matching them.

Includes GST but body only. I am moving up from a K100D with a bunch of glass.
Overnight air freight to Perth was $16.
Have noticed benefit of increased resolution already, no noise and NO HOT PIXELS!

Geez that is a drop!! I just spent all my $ on a DA* 50-135. Would have been tempting to have the K20D

Is there any place in Perth that you can service your k20D within the warranty period, or you have to return it to CR Kennedy?

C R Kennedy have an office in Perth where you should drop gear off for warranty work.

Do they do any technical stuff? sensor cleaning, calibration, general techy thingy?

I was told there is a nikon and canon service centre in perth. Surely pentax must have a proper service centre in WA as well?
