My thoughts....

Also, I don't think they will reuse the FA50 design, I expect a much improved design. Note that they used 55mm and not 50mm to make it clear it is not a simple replacement.

What they need hawever is a replacement for the FA35/2, a cheap and bright SDM design. An updated 35/2 would be fine although an f/1.4 would be better.
It may be there to replace the 85mm f1.4, but optically it must be a whole new design, and based on some the new top-line Pentax stuff, I'm certain this is going to be an absolute killer of a lens.

I wonder if it's full-frame...

And yeah, a DA* or limited 135 f2 or 2.8 would be nice.

Cheers,
Cameron

If it were intended to be, wouldn't they have designated it DFA★?

biggest hole in their roadmap. Nothing from 100 to 200 except the middle of a zooms range. In fact, nothing between 77mm to 200 that isn't a macro (flat field of focus) lens. They need to fill this gap. And a big gun or two would be nice (400 f2.8 - 600 f4 - 250-600 f5.6 zoom).

They need to redo the 135 f2.8 - a great lens, love to see it as a DA*.

Cheers,
Cameron
Actually I'd like to see them redo the SMC 135 F2.5 That is truly a stellar lens. Fast, small and IQ to die for, and pretty damn good bokeh also. One of my favorite lenses.

What i would REALLY like A LOT would be a DA* 135 f/1.8 or f/2. $1300 hands down.

Nope, DA★200 mm f2.8 is a full frame lenst and it is not designated as a DFA★...

Well, there's an important distinction: it covers a full-frame circle, but isn't necessarily designed to perform optimally outside of a 1.5× crop circle.

Still want a new 85

I still want a new 85 prime, but don't see one even on the roadmap. It's like 85 was only valid on film, and now with the crop factor, its 50 and 55 to take the role. But there also use to be 120 and 135 on film, so that's what I where the 85 still has a place. I find 70 a bit short for doing tight headshots. And 100 is too long.

My wish for the upcomimg Roadmap:

Pentax DA 135mm f/3.5 (or f/4) Ltd. Keep it small and sharp wide open - I have really come to love those small LTDs and would like one thats a bit longer than 70/77

DFA have an aperture ring, DA don't. Cover circle doesn't matter.
