Ricoh, which has given us the GXR concept, the Theta, . . . ?
.
This one needs no tickling to start laughing about. GXR and Theta are both totally whacked out products with minimal, niche appeal. Why? Because of the deliberate design quirk applied to them. Lensor is NOT a smart idea in rapidly changing sensor tech, and one trick 360 degree camera is well, a dog that knows how to sit, and that's about it.
Anyone in grade 8 could design such idiosyncratic cameras, but it takes a bit more than that to think about a concept that is NOT so limited and obscure.
When looking at Ricoh's history of "innovation" it reminds me of crazy story-lines of the early Sci-Fi movies: totally implausible, childish, and ready for bin as soon as one enrols grade 9.
