But only in the northern hemisphere......

And where I live, "summer" does not start until mid-July. At least we do not plant anything in the garden until then.

This is true in the UK, too - but June 21st is also Midsummer's Day. I never did get that.

Well on june 21st the sun reaches it most northern point and then starts on it's journey to the south. So strictly it is Midsummer's Day.The people that put together those rocks at Stonehenge already knew it

Yep. Generally speaking, it's the same here. We don't see leaves on the trees until mid May and frost is still a threat in early June. Due to global warming, summer now lasts 3 weeks.

Pacific currents. Warm currents are pushing the jet stream further east, that pushes arctic air further south and east than it normally would be. Anchorage, AK will be warmer this week than Upstate NY...

Easy, if even pros are starting to switch from their trusted brands to Sony milc because of the money, then what are poor amateurs and consumers supposed to do? For the difference in price between the D810 and A7r you can get a decent lens. And the prices going to drop further and faster. ((SR2) First rumor about a super cheap FF E-mount camera. Costs 799 Euro with lens? | sonyalpharumors)

Does a Pentax FF DSLR flagship stand any chance of succes?
With the difference between A7r and D810 you can buy the adapter to A mount to have access to a reasonnable amount of AF lenses including the far cheaper sigma/tamron ones.

And if Sony drop prices on FF sensors overall, well all bodies will get cheaper anyway. No big issue.
