That's actually irony. Sarcasm is the use of irony to show contempt, whereas irony is intended either to convey a hidden message or, as you suggest, for comedic effect. It seems to me that very few Forum members here have contempt for Pentax or Ricoh, but many see the humour in the situation. Those who are contemptuous don't tend to stick around, but brag about their Nikon/Sony/MFT acquisitions for a little while and then depart, perhaps to vent their personal issues elsewhere, perhaps to happier audiences.

Still, in this Mad Hatter linguistic world we live in, meanings can change as quickly as Twitter fads.

There's much to expect this year compared to previous ones:

The GR 2 is due around Feb/Mar based on the usual two-year life cycle.

The K-3 is due a replacement soon too, as is ditto the MX-1 as well.

And they've already sneak-previewed those two FF lenses so they'll be on show again as well, which means questions about what camera body they fit on, so...

Edit - PS, the irony of Ricoh being next to the video area for professionals considering video's always been their weakest spot. May be a sign.

There is no official confirmation that these lenses were FF. and: having a booth near the professional video companies does not mean anything, please don't expect a 8k video device from pentax and then be disappointed. Video is still not of real importance for Ricoh.

The K-01 was seen as a failure and will not be replaced. Ricoh has said repeatedly that the Q is the Pentax mirrorless product.

. . . and with Wi-Fi an IMEI# and a native iCloud link and iTunes mini-app so you can mashup your Bono videos and tunes in-camera and directly post a Vine to Instagram. In a nod to Japan and China as Ricoh Pentax's primary markets, unfortunately for Westerners it will only link to an NTT Docomo or Softbank wireless network.

A Firmware Update for the 'FluCard for Pentax' is expected in April to correct localized deficiency.
