I think you got it wrong. The German adverb
“schnittig” is difficult to translate; maybe sleeky, rakish. So the phrase
“schnittige Kameras” should be understand as a commendation! Most commonly it is used in connection with cars (f.i. you can say
“ein schnittiger Porsche” but if you say
“ein schnittiger Hyundai” you will see puzzled faces). Furthermore, it’s a play of words with the noun
“Schnitt” or the verb
“schneiden” (cut) – which obviously happened to this nice one. It didn’t simply “come apart”. ;-)
