Take a picture of the black new DSLR camera (the one with the flipped LCD screen) with a smartphone by extending your arm in front of you and adequately tilting your phone .
Why no K-9?

To all who ask, there is no access to the back of the cameras. It's in a middle cube against a full wall. Here is about as best as I could get yesterday with a phone looking down on one of the back cameras. I wasn't trying to get a pic of the back, so it wasn't my focus.
Trying to get an angled shot never worked because of really bad glare, so I had to basically lay the phone flat on the glass while looking around innocently.

Thanks for this! Looks like standard 4-way controller, with menu and info buttons at the bottom, and playback above, more or less like the K-50. The AF/AE-L button has been moved closer to the top corner.

The camera looks very promising, lots to like.

I don't get the placement of the Wi-Fi button, though. Shouldn't this prime location be used for something you'd be using while looking through the viewfinder, e.g., an "ISO" button?

I can see that having a prominent position for the Wi-Fi button may help to sell the camera (provided it will actually have a presence in non-specialist stores) but I think this particular aspect should be addressed by a "Wi-Fi" (and perhaps "SR") sticker that is placed prominently, but can be removed for use.

Another reason for the placement could be that Wi-Fi will have significant impact on battery life and that the ring-LED is there to remind you that you should be turning it off, unless you are currently using it.

The best scenario would be that one could customise the button inside the "Wi-Fi" ring-LED (e.g., to "ISO") and use an alternative way to toggle the Wi-Fi.

What does that marking represent on the top side opposite the shutter? A circle with a line through it? On the K3 it is on the right side of the flash housing near the diopter.

It goes all the way back to film, and indicates the focal plane (where the film/sensor is).

Thanks. It looks about in the same place, although there is an articulating screen on the back of the prototype.

Think the buttons layout look the same. But the 4 way controller look different..

However, it seem that this time the layout of the buttons are squeezed to the side.

Has the LCD screen gotten bigger? or the camera has become less wide?

Looks slimmer, more KS-1 ish to me and therefore yes, the buttons look a bit smaller.

One could think that making the screen a touchscreen would mean less need for physical buttons?
Touchscreen sounds great IF it's done well. Sony has it but it's for shot taking and focus point touching only, so it does nothing during photo review?!
Pinch to zoom would be good to more quickly check around a photo, much like you can on an iPhone for example.

Given the scroll wheel still shows the wide angle and zoom tree icons either side, I'm expecting it's not a touch screen, or not a touch screen with pinch zoom ability?

Actually it's hard to know if the real scroll wheel is still narrow from this angle either.
Hopefully it is as I found that more useable that some taller scroll wheels, where the dial is more like a small tube than a spinning thin disk.

Fully agree. This camera promises a lot at this stage. I'll sound negative, but it's theirs to lose presently.

Quite weird making wifi such a prominent button, I mean it really is quite large isn't it.
You're screaming me too by putting it there, considering the likes of the Sony Nex/newer Alpha series have had that for years.
There should be a dedicated free app to support that.

I think the size looks like it is a KS-1, this may be the mid level KS-1 ie. a KS-2.

Those at CES can you comment on the size of the prototype against the K-3 and KS-1?

It is interesting where they put the movie mode on it. I would accidentally put it in movie mode when waking my camera back up while hiking all the time.
