I guess the button on the lens is to fold/unfold the lens. the intriguing thing was the focal scale which is out of range, and centered on a mark.

I'm in the market to upgrade from my K5 and this one in all probability will not be the one I go for, however it does look very interesting indeed. A good looking camera with an articulating screen. I wonder if the new lens is weather sealed? It doesn't look motorized though., clearly a kit lens.

I hope it's weather resistant. "Honestly, my lens is usually bigger than this! The frost just made the button stick!"

That's standard for collapsible zoom lenses. The out-of-range dot simply signifies the position to where the zoom ring must be rotated to collapse and lock the lens.

Note the black shutter release button and hotshoe.
In recent years only the flagship APS-C had a black button, the mid-range models have a chrome button and chrome hotshoe.
They're black on my black K-30. KS-1 buttons seem to match the body colors.

A K-30/50 upgrade with a swivel screen and mic port? Seems cool.

I can't imagine them going back to a 16 megapickle sensor, so perhaps it will have the 20 mp and AA-less sensor found in the K-S1.

Glad I didn't bite on the K-S1 this past holiday season (not that there's anything wrong with the K-S1).

It's supposed to be a 70-200 F2.8 that's FF compatible.

Also, 4 pages in and no one has said Pentax is doomed yet?

DA* 60-250 should be FF compatible (or leastwise "usable"), too, at least if this thread is right - https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/10-pentax-slr-lens-discussion/31629-da-le...ts-thread.html
But OK, F4 is not F2.8.

I've kept postponing purchase of a long Sigma zoom (~400/500 mm) because I as a rule prefer Pentax lenses, but at the moment it seems that there's no sense to while off because Pentax won't place such long lens on the market in 2015.

exciting times, but do need to see the rest of this camera

KS-2 to replace the old Kxx line?

Imagining what the K3 replacement would be.

Agree... it sure looks like a push button release for deploying/retracting the lens.

Maybe a movie button?
I'd say yes to the movie button ... seems to be the best answer ... Red record tally light around the button so the operator knows when they are "rolling"

There is already a LED around the main shutter button, presumably green for still photography and red for movie recording (same as K-S1).

If Ricoh is releasing these for CES, I wonder if they are planning an even bigger announcement for CP+ 2015 which is just around the corner.

They aren't releasing them, they are teasing us by announcing that these pieces of equipment are under development and will be released at a later stage.

In much the same way the 645Z was teased last year at CP+.

Indeed. A teaser then an actual announcement make two pieces of news and two opportunities for media coverage.
