Articulating screen. Finally! Never wanted one until I started macro shooting.

Looks promising. A 18-50/4-5.6 and a light body could stop me from jumping ships to M43!

It looks like a DSLR but I wouldn't be surprised to read it's a MILC. The button layout resembles the K-01, the hump on top is lower than the prism bulges I see on K-5 and K-3. Why, this could be the long awaited K-01 replacement with all the obvious shortcomings of that model corrected.

I doubt is a mirror-less camera... it definitely has some traces of the new K-S1 design features combined with some K-50/500 elements... plus some new ideas.

Since Pentax called is DSLR, it has a mirror. I expect its the body and sensor of the K-S1, with the K-50 grip and features.

I wonder what that button is on the top of the camera with the translucent ring around it? It's not a power button, because we can see that is the usual concentric ring around the shutter release. It reminds me of the Panasonic iAuto button that lights up when activated. Maybe a wifi toggle?

My guess is that this lens is like many of the other retracting zoom lenses for other systems such as Nikon's 1 series, the micro 4/3, and Sony's E mount. With those, the lens can retract into itself for compactness, but must extend before use. So the dot setting may just be for storage and the button may be for unlocking the lens from its retracted setting. This is how the Olympus 14-42mm Mk II lens works.
Agree... it sure looks like a push button release for deploying/retracting the lens.

I was wondering that too. It has a regular mode dial (Thank Asahi Kogaku Goshi Kaisha).

Note the black shutter release button and hotshoe.
In recent years only the flagship APS-C had a black button, the mid-range models have a chrome button and chrome hotshoe.

From here, it looks like a very solid mid-range camera, compact and well built.

When you press one of the buttons on the side, the flash housing pops up and out jumps a miniature version of the chairman of Ricoh to offer you a cup of sake. If you press the large button on the top plate, he pours you another one.
