But what about its name

Surely the most important thing is what is the new camera to be called?

Perhaps a rich forum member could donate a Limited lens as a prize?

My suggestion - K-50 ii

How about Ki-Wi in honor of the fact that Pentax prides itself on small dSLRs, the use of color, and it has WiFi?

No, not collapsible IMO and not sure about articulated.
Wifi/NFC shoud be in though.
Why not? It will be nice to see small D-FA 35-70 or 28-70 (with similar dimensions and speed like F35-70).

Because it will be probably quite bigger and launching an FF, you want to emphase quality, less size.

May they hear you though...

K-S1 Girly Q-S1 Girly, WG-M1 hunky, XG-1 boring. Where is Ricoh going with this? S is fore female aimed products it seems. I don't think this will be a K-M1, K60 Most likely. But they could use K-E1 (E for Enthousiast) or the K-O1 O for outdoor. But the O looks to much like a 0. While I am at it:
K-A1 (gotta start somewhere)
K-B1 (Bad ass)
K-C1 for compact or cats,
K-D1 for digital .
K-F1 Features.
K-H1 Homey
K-i1(ant one)
K-J1 Just Kidding,
K-K1 (K short of being racist),
K-L1 Love baby!,
K-N1 newby,
K-P1 (Pro),
K-Q1 (just to be confusing us a little more),
K-R1 (recreational)
K-T1 (in every colour as long as it is black),
K-U1(t one),
K-V1 (versatile),
K-W1 (water resistant),
K-X1 (Xtreme)
K-Y1 (when you can have two)
K-Z1 (and the sunshine band).

That brand is probably trademarked by the shoe polish company of the same name.

Does that mean you can't call an item that - it's not a request to rebrand Pentax into Ki-Wi

All is good in Pentax land when of all things the naming scheme is discussed.
I like where RP is going with this. Once I extort FA31 from my wife on promises to never to buy another piece of photo equipment again, I'll start thinking about a compact K-mount camera.

So the new camera will have colors ... (although it is only at the bottom plate, camera at the left).

btw, maybe people should stop laughing at LEDs on the KS1 and this new camera.... one guy in other forum said he LOVE these LEDs, because he almost always shoot at night and these LEDs help a lot, it is the features he wants!

I turned the LEDs off within ten minutes of unboxing my K-S1, and never thought about them again (except during forum arguments, of course). While chatting about difficulties shooting outdoor Christmas lights in the dark, PF member @mtngal had to remind me that you can turn the control lights back on... (even if you leave the grip LEDs off)

I haven't followed the K-S1 issue much, how do you like the camera other than the aesthetics?
