News at CES 2015?

The Ricoh Engagement Forum Has a new section under "News and Announcements " titled "CES 2015" with no threads yet. CES starts in a couple of days, Ricoh has two booths in different buildings. I would guess this is where they would show off technology.

They are exhibiting under two categories, one is "Accessories - Digital Imaging/Photography Accessories"
And the other category is "Digital Imaging/Photography"

Wouldn't be surprised to see a WG-5 compact, hopefully with some innovation.

Just remember it is the CONSUMER Electronics Show. You will only see pocketable cameras and devices. No K mount or larger announcements/releases... outside of maybe showing off the KS-1.

An innovative WG-5 would be nice. So would another iteration of the GR, maybe with a native 35mm or 50mm lens. How about a proper enthusiast compact with, say, a one-inch sensor? Nah. That would be too much to ask for.

You never know what they might roll out. Last year it was nothing, 2013 it was the MX-1. You never know.

At CES it may be too much, yes.
It'd almost be as relevant as a new Barbie (OK, I made that up but you get the point).

Consumer -> camera for everybody. Nothing else. Not now... CP+ though...

I attended CES for the first time last year. The only thing new was the Theta. Ricoh had a substantial size booth though. Looks like it is the same booth size this year. They are situated in a much better location. Last year they were in an obscure corner.

Reading other rumor forums, looks like big megapixel war is on and we might even see new cameras from the likes of Sony and possibly others.

I am sure Ricoh is working on something big. Wether it shows up for CES, I have my doubts. Last year 645z was announced after CES and the prototype was shown at WPPI in Vegas at the end of February, early March.

Looks like a new kitlens, the Pentax letters look a bit shopped though but it looks like it has a articulating screen.

Looks like a morph of the K-S1 and K-50/500.

Sure does look like an articulated back LCD.

And the lens has the focal length indicator pointer sitting at a dot, not at a specified focal length. That, with the little button past the 50 designator, and looking rather like the "A" lock button on K-mount lens with an aperture ring, might indicate that this lens can be focal-length controlled from buttons/levers on the backside of the camera, similar to many point-and-shoot cameras.

Looks like entry/medium level replacement. Articulating screen, button on the other side. Beefed up KS-1 for non-shiny crowd.
