At the rate Pentax is going with this, maybe they'll manage to push out a full-frame, too!

The new camera looks great. Its even a bit too advance meaning this it finally caught up with modern times. I hope it will be strong and realiable as it looks.

That's true. For some reason I thought entry/mid camera had more on the left side.

I wonder if Pentax is completely ditching the entry level model since margins on them is probably pretty low to begin with and people can easily buy last year's mid level model at near entry level price.

Something to keep in mind as these are not even working pre-production models.
Much of the technology in this camera will be from existing models, blending pieces from the K-S1 and the K-3, the latter probably just for the Wi-Fi interface. On that basis, the time to production may not be very great, so a March release is feasible.

I like the subtle orange accent on the bottom of the black one. I hadn't noticed it on the front shots.

Also, I wonder all that can be done with NFC on a dslr other than file transfer.

Extremely doubtful.

considering the lack of buttons Id' say we have a touch screen here. Such a shame they don't work well when wet.

There are no fewer buttons than the K-50, in fact it has one button more than the K-50 (WiFi button)
If you also count the Video section position on the Off/On switch, then there's two additional physical control features over the K-50.

I'm one of the probably few who doesn't care for articulating screens. They feel cheesy to me like they could snap off. I'm sure having a tilting option is useful though, ( especially someone with bad knees like myself). It looks good and it's always nice to see pentax come out with new products.

I've never heard of or seen a vari-angle screen snapping off. They've been around a long long time in the camcorder world and a number of years on bridge cameras and DSLRs. In fact, Pentax had one on their Optio 750Z a decade ago. The tech is proven,

Ricoh reads our forums - Me and a lot users said about tilting LCD and Wi-Fi when K-S1 appeared.... If new camera will be just 100-150USD more expensive, who will buy K-S1? K-S1 market will be very narrow. I think K-S1 has short life.

New camera is real Pentax. K-S1 is misconception...

Interesting... I wonder what the big rectangle behind the card slot is? Just a funky grip for your thumb or something else?

I agree with you, and as you say they have been around for a long time. I guess I just don't like the feel of them.
