Pentax owns a Patent with a complete new SDM,Ring SDM.
The 70-200,the Telezoom and the Fullframe Body are ready and comming this year.
Everybody should have a nice christmas :-)
Both new lenses are NOT Tamron or Sigma copys.
Till end of next year we will get 6 - 8 fullframe lenses.
This week Pentax shows the new internal roadmaps for camera and lensline, the public roadmap will be to see next to CP+.
Pictures of the new body are out,but only for show in the offices.
Also at CP+ public will see more about the camera.
It is bigger than K-3 and not the same Style, but simmilar.
No design experiment.
Some with DC and other with SDM.
Best regards
6 - 8 fullframe lenses, maybe these, 15mm f3.5, 20mm f2.8, 24mm f1.4, 28mm f2.8, 35 f1.4, 50mm f1.2, 85mm f1.2, 135mm f2 or there about, may a couple slow zooms.

Well, I guess I'm glad I managed to snag an FA 31 this past Christmas. Who knows how high its value is going to fly when FF is "confirmed confirmed".

I'm not so sure it's a given old glass will rise in price. *If* they release updates for most coveted glass, with new coatings, possibly WR and motors, quick shift and all that jazz, I expect the prices to stagnate, or even go down some.

Anything that makes you guys expecting a FF camera happy will make us APSC guys happy. I'm glad Pentax considers the requirements of its customers.

Nice dream but I think the days of fast special lenses are over... When was the last time Pentax released a new f/1.4 lens? That was the DA* 55/1.4 SDM, announced in 2008. Yes, 7 (!!!) years ago!

Besides, Pentax is not canon so there's no need to copy their lenses. I want GOOD, relatively fast lenses which are not super heavy.

The reason I was thinking of a price increase on old glass was based on a recent example. When the 645Z was announced, prices on old 645 glass went nutty on Fleabay.

Now, the FA 31 is still in production, so perhaps that will stop the price rising on that as used prices should never even approach what it goes for new. But for older out-of-production glass (F-series and FA series lenses) that is discontinued, I would expect those prices to rise, at least for those lenses that have a decent rep.

I agree, if those fast special lenses get released it will be later, no need to do everything at once, or to provide all the best toys in one shot

Much more likely that these will appear, my guess:

DFA* 70-200
DFA 150-450
DFA 24-70

DFA 31/43/77 Limiteds

DFA* 55 1.4

And dont forget that 100 macro, 200 2.8 and 300 4 will also work perfectly on the coming FF Pentax wont do the same mistake as Sony, with releasing the FF before enough lenses are in the making. One of the top heads in Pentax, came from Sony..so i think they are aware of that mistake

What is the sensor, 36 Mpx, or 24 Mpx ? I hope the former.
If it's 36 Mpx, I will be retiring my D810 and go back to operating one system only - Pentax, of course.

If the 6-8 lenses for "FF" are indeed coming, I guess they're going to include updated versions of the FA Limiteds + some supposedly "FF" lenses like the DA*60-250 and DFA 100? It seems rather too optimistic to think that all those incoming lenses are new designs and patents...

When was the last time Pentax release a FF camera? Even longer, but it looks like it's actually going to happen this time. I agree though that the described line of ultrafast lenses looks a bit too good to be true. The price of such a HD* DFA 50mm 1.2 SDM would make it something 'special' indeed. But making special runs of new batches of A 50 1.2 would be cool and realistic though. That has not been discontinued all that long ago.

My guess.. if the brand wants to get closer to "pros" they need to come out first with the lenses that most pro need so i guess: 70-200mm // 150-450mm // 24-70mm ( as kit ) // 85mm f1.4 // 50mm f1.4 (perhaps f1.2 :O ) // 35mm f1.4 // 100mm macro //

But who knows.. we'll see.. good times are coming.

Ultrawides are missing.

Luckily Tokina and Tamron have excellent new ultrawide full frame zoom lenses.
I hope they will join Pentax FF party.

I had Pentax DA 12-24 which is rebranded Tokina.
It was a great lens, I used it for 2 years, but it's price gone insane and I've been forced to sell it.

Tokina has never introduced their lenses to k-mount. I like better tamron, sigma, voighlander, and zeiss.
