Of course not. It annoyrs me too but Pentax did try to do both and it got them heavy backfire.
I would not be tempted again if I were them.

Old 80-200/2.8 exist for a reason.

The longer lenses don't have the SDM problems that some of the shorter lenses had. Weight gets to be a real issue with big long lenses, and having a mechanism that isn't used just adds weight.

The older film bodies won't be supported.

I found A* 200 macro on ebay yesterday. Now when I wanted to post here the link, I can't find it anymore... Sold.

It's irony that the seller's address is only about 100 km far from where I live.

But the price was extreme... 3000 USD.

OK, so I was wrong... it's even more... 3.999 USD...

Forgive my, my dear Pentax lord, because i've sinned. I've lost faith in you dear lord, but now, i've seen the signs, and 'ill follow your lead. I will not deviate from the path to the holy spirit that is the FF

Oh Zvonimir, you Pentax oracle you. Thanks for clarifying your level of "insight," and in so friendly a manner, not to mention.

Please knock it off. You know as much as anybody else here, and that is nil.
In 10 days do not even think to fall into temptation and write that the revealed stuff is "exactly as you have been informed about", with perhaps "one more thing left unveiled, to be ready for the summer".

2 new lenses and FF announced today plus APS-C And retractible kit zoom shown at CES is a fair start on the 8 or so lenses we've heard about.
