yeah, I wish it was 35mm and a larger aperture, say f2. The current GR have a 35mm "crop mode", so if it is a FF and a 28mm lens, the 35mm crop mode in it will give the crop mode a little higher pixel than the current one.

But then it loses the GR tradition of 28mm (and wider, e.g. GR21, current GR with 21mm wide adapter), I think it is a "love it or leave it" kind of thing with GR. It is a specialty camera, and I hope it remain so to distinguish itself from the crowd.

Keep it 28mm native, make it larger aperture, say f2, make a 21mm and a 50mm adapter lens, win.

Interesting if true, but I wonder if they could keep the cost and size down to acceptable levels. If the GR no longer fits in your pocket, it loses a lot of its appeal. I personally think that there are a lot of other useful things they could do to improve the GR, such as reintroduce SR, reintroduce PDAF, add WR to keep the dust off that sensor, improve battery life, even give it dual card slots for photojournalists who can't afford to lose a shot. There's no denying that FF is a huge selling point at the moment, but the GR is about catching the moment, not ultimate image quality.
Except it might receive an EVF as well which would make it a Ricoh GX

no way. GR never have zoom lens in its entire history. Really good prime lens is one of GR identity.
Yep, but Ricoh GX did have one. And a VF.

Let me clarify. In my experience dealing with secrets, they're limited to a known pool of people so that if they're leaked without permission there's a small pool of people to investigate. It doesn't matter if YOU protect your sources if the source can be traced backward from within. All I'm saying is that sharing a "secret" your "source" shared with you, if true, is grossly irresponsible and not something a good friend should do. Unless, of course, your source told you to leak it.

I would welcome a FF GR with open arms. More quality in ever smaller packages! But... Wouldn't a FF GR instead of an FF K-mount be hard slap in the face of the userbase?

My sources who is working in Pentax/Ricoh marketing mention that FF GR is possible and we must wait and see...
Also looking at that collapsible 18-50mm lens i think we will have GR with zoom.
Of course it is possible. The real question is. Will it happen? Pentax/Ricoh has a marketing rep in Lithuania?

Not that I'm buying this rumor, but I think that releasing a fixed lens FF camera and no K mount model would be quite out of the question. So if there's even a grain of truth in this rumor, they'd be releasing both. Having said that, I don't trust any FF Pentax/Ricoh rumor until the product is on the store shelf.

If this is coming out at CP+, I suspect that it was trickled out with the expectation that it would be made public. This was a sales rep. They talk. You don't tell them anything that you don't want public.

We probably will see another leak next weekend from a different source with a tiny bit more information.

A FF GR would be cool...but let's not forget what the GR is: A camera that is supposed to be able to fit in your pocket and go anywhere.
The RX1 is not at all a pocketable camera. Sure you can make the lens slower to keep the size down, but then you are limiting it's utility and making it a good light camera as opposed to a go-anywhere camera.

Also, regarding changing the FL from a 28mm equiv to a 35mm equiv camera, that is also not in Ricoh's DNA. I remember reading somewhere that the japanese prefer the wider FL as opposes to westerners that prefer the tighter FL.

Two points. First, you release what is ready; the GR folks have had time to work on this. It gets a full frame out on the market, into a segment that is unpopulated.

Second, all that they have developed will be helpful for a DSLR K mount. Nicely compact high IQ sensor package, fast processing in a small package. Instead of a D800 size full frame DLSR, they could have a very compact body not much larger than the K3.

And their DSLR full frame is the second iteration on the technology, giving an advantage entering into a crowded market.

I predict that you have hit the nail on the head with this one, but really who knows?

Did I talk about GXR?

GX is small compact? Really? Thought it was a dslr... What is a GR then if not a small compact?

I'm not even interested in such a GR if it is a focal length to short for portrait.

It might be the camera to put in your pocket at times when it is not appropriate to have all the gear with you.
