I like how it uses a D-Li90 battery, now being rebranded as a Ricoh BT-10 (see the bottom of this page)

Also, the unit itself looks massive so I'm guessing (as the branding implies) that it's designed for security professionals / guards.

I wonder how many years it will be before these things resemble the Motorola Brick phone to us? hehe

I predict that these binoculars show up in a movie in the hands of a soldier, spy, or other operative before a Pentax DSLR appears in a movie.

In my opinion it lacks an important feature - laser rangefinder. With this, it might even attract military customers (useful tool for artillery spotters, scouts, snipers, etc).
