Let us not forget that it should feature the full KAF2 mount!

Why are we forced to lug around the 20D for decent performance? Even the 200D is far too big IMHO.
Amen to that. You are essentially saying you want an upgrade to the ist D (the first one) with levels and controls on par with K20...
I want that too. Hope it will happen, although I wouldn't want to bet a penny on it...

Make a small high quality body to match the limited lenses. Two dials, Pentaprism, SR. As small or smaller than the original *istD.

That's my order!
Man, I'm with you, Nick. In fact, I'd love a "poor man's Leica M8" for use with my three Limiteds.

And let's bundle it with a DA40 or DA35 macro

I'd rather pair it with a "D FA" 40 or 35. But I realise that the aperture ring era is gone.

Pentax keeps secrets. No nuances. I hope to see small body. 10 Mp will be enough.

Theyd sell atleast a couple limiteds off the back (err front) of one of these. I'd LOVE something along these lines, bout the size of my Super A and a couple pancakes. mmmm
I'd be investing in some cargo pants and that baby would be going everywhere with me.

I don't like this speculating threads, but too many people voiced their "wishes" so here's mine.
IF there would be anything simpler/smaller then K200D, I'd like it to be something of the size of Oly 410/420. Forget the grip. I don't think they'd put pentaprism on low end (read low cost) model so we'd be stuck with pentamirror, but would be nice with split focusing screen. Two dials would be nice, but again I don't think so. 10mpx is more then enough. I wish it had ISO performance of K100/110D. SDM for sure. DA40 or 21 or 35 as a kit lens (21 would be really good)...
but, we'll have to wait and see if there will be anything new this year....

........... Why is ISO not easier to set and read? No reason except lack of vision and clear thinking.
On my K10D you simply use your thumb on the OK button and fore finger on the front dial to change ISO which can easily be seen on the LCD ...what could be easier?

Set the front/back dial to change ISO, without the need to press any buttons? (it works like a charm in Av/Tv modes)

My suggestion would be easier.

A dial for each of the three primary photo parameters so they can be seen and set even when the camera is off. Perfect affordance. No dials that do multiple things for such important functions. No need to set a parameter in one place and read it in another. An Auto setting on each that gives control over to the camera. No need for special modes.

The perfect interface that in some ways borrows from the ultimate in film bodies.

Talking to my local camera shop manager today they said there's definitely a need for a lower end model than the K200D, retailing at about £299. They'd also like to see a limited body but hadn't heard anything.

They're now a Pentax Pro Centre so are required to carry a wide range of lenses - great news!
