Probably because of the on and of AF performance

As I have said in the past. I am willing to bet the FF body is pushed back until Spring of 2016.

The official press release:

?HD PENTAX-D FA? 70-200mmF2.8ED DC AW? ?????????????RICOH IMAGING

The reason put forward: the necessity to revise part of the design to achieve the high level of performance required from a star lens.

Awesome, given that these lenses stay on the market for years after release, getting it right is more important than getting it out early.

They will now install a 'Turbo' mode button on the lens.

It's a prudent move. Better to get it right before wide-scale release. Easier to tune things up now, than when thousands of copies are out in the marketplace.

Agreed...it is better to do things right the first time. This will be an awesome lens I am sure.

haha no.. he has a point there.. with all the delays on this lens and no other communication on the body as well as no announcement of any other lenses it seems like a really stalled situation. I'm sure they'll get it together but I'm too thinking it will not be this year.

How many premium lenses per year have they been releasing? 1?

Is cool. Sony is taking the market by storm, introducing specs way ahead of everyone, and Ricoh is trying to make a lens that works well with their cameras.

I think Sony intentionally timed the announcement to follow the Leica announcement earlier. The FE mount has become the poor mans Leica and it works great with M-mount glass. As soon as Leica made their announcement, Sony quickly followed and blew Leica right out of the water. Nobody is talking about the new Leica. Sony has been holding this for at least a month.

I don't know... Sony also announced a couple of fixed-lens cameras... And the A7 series certainly fills a different niche in the market.

The A7II, or an a7sii, will probably dominate the video market.

Any lenses? A friend was interested in the new Nikon 300 f4 with the new lens technology. He ordered it very early this year and it finally arrived. It had been released, a flaw found and it was delayed substantially.

May be a good thing, gives us the time to save the money for those new comers...

With the metabones adapter, one can use Canon EF lenses with it.. and retain AF. No idea how well it functions in practice though..

What are you getting at? Nikon's mistakes aren't incredibly relevant. My point remains. Sony continues to push the industry forward, while Ricoh is trying to make one lens work with their camera bodies.

I don't get Ricoh at all...the 645z is the only thing they've done in years that really seems like an unequivocal success, in terms of concept and execution. I guess the k3 could be included in that... But the failure to market it, the theta, the DA560, the KS-1, the DA limited zoom, the most recent action cam...it just seems like they are throwing products out there without any idea what to do with them.
