ePhotozine reviewed this lens this summer and found it to be a great performer optically, only really criticising the AF to be a bit 'hit and miss'. Considering that sample was essentially a finished product at the time and how long Ricoh keeps working on it, that lens might turn out to be a stellar lens.

On one hand, I agree - we are seeing continuous improvement at work, and that is a good thing.

One the other hand, it doesn't always follow that the more times you re-work a recipe, the better the dish.

Ricoh is just trying to do something to minimize if not avoid complaints. They know that once the FF System is out, it will be compared to the others. Well, I expect a lot of bashing from other system users and also from other forum members. I appreciate them working on it to make sure that it will be a great improvement over the current Pentax system.
