We've had confirmations - and then had our hopes dashed - far too many times.

Existential despair is part of the contemporary Pentaxian Zeitgeist, and there honestly can be a quite serious and academic discussion about how our identity will change when Pentax releases a truly competent, no apologies, 36x24 sensor digital camera body.

If not The Other, then, Who will we be?

As much as I love my 60-250mm my Canon EF 70-200mm MKII 2.8 IS walks all over it at f2.8 and f4.
But thing was that if they cannot afford 70-200/2.8(pentax) then good and cheaper version could be 60-250/4.

Funny, these estimates on price remind me why I switched to Pentax APS-C in the first place in 2009, going from a Nikon D70 to a K20D with the DA*16-50 and 50-135 F2.8 instead of a D300 or D700 with the 24-70 and 70-200 F2.8.

80% of the performance at 50% of the price continues to be a good deal.

I've said it before, but i really dont know or care much about the history. But i can understand the scepticisme. But i know, that its not long until we will get rid of the if's and concentrate on when! I know how it looks, i know when it will be in the stores etc..And im looking forward to getting it official out there for everyone to know

We have exactly the same kind of scepticism on our domestic forums. I guess people have just seen too many disappointments ovet the years. Can't really blame them. However, it will calm down once Pentax starts rolling out the new products.

Sceptism will calm down, but other things will get some fuel on their flames...positive and negative

That's not an f/2.8 lens. They want f2.8... also, the 60-250 AF is said to be too slow for action shots. I haven't had one but that's been agreed on, in other threads.
All SDM lenses are slow for actions shots. This micro engine is not powerfull enough for fast movements of lenses

I know about some confirmations on some French sites or something like that, but nothing official.

don't know any newer official statements except from few forum members

this year I'm definitely going to full frame camera, I hope it will be Pentax, if not, D750 looks very nice.

As long as they can mount-swap their lineup really needs no branding for mounts as I see it. They do K-mount swaps, I hope?
They can only swap to a mount the lens already exist for. So no, the 24-70 can't be swaped to Pentax 'cos such lens does not exist (yet?).

With Nikon, it will probably be a good idea to wait for a D760 to be released .
They are already busily patching up various problems with the current D750, and more problems may be lurking.

You liked the grease on D600 sensor ? You'll love the flare issue of D750...
