No! Both lenses that comes tomorrow is Pro-lenses for FF.
I was talking about the FF but I guess now you have confirmed the 100-400 as well.

It's pretty slow for a lens with SDM. I've used both it and the Sigma 70-200 and the Sigma is definitely faster (and sometimes cheaper depending on where you find it). F/4 isn't the worst for action but the f/2.8 lenses out there outperform the Pentax.

The High-Magnification Zoom isn't necessarily a Pro lens. There might be a Pro lens Pentax hasn't shown under glass.

Just sayin'. Not saying there is another lens - just no one knows yet.

Until tomorrow, then.

I'm not too childish about what camera manufacturer I use if camera is good enough for me.

currently on Pentax, I do hope to stay on Pentax FF, but if not, doesn't matter that much, only financially that will not be such easy move.

Nikon have cheap primes and pretty much best FF bodies at this moment (810, 750 and 610). Canon probably will take the lead this year, and if Pentax make FF with comparable AF, DR and noise with current Nikon models, I will gladly stay here

you again!

after many years of FF rumor, you will only believe when you actually see the thing.

anyway, there is a new DFA lens announced couple years ago, the DFA 100mm WR macro, so a new DFA lens announcement is not a confirmation that FF is coming.

Im relatively new to Pentax, but shouldnt a FA* lense tell you more then a DFA lense would do?

My take:

SR will be effective for FL under 135mm (or some number) but at longer FL has some noticeable negative effect (vignetting or whatever).

Where does this come from?

You know that a 1988 Minolta AF 600mm f/4 APO G HS works perfectly with the sensor stabilisation of a Sony Alpha 900 or Alpha 99, don't you?

So why should Ricoh do worse than Sony?

smc Pentax-D FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro WR was announced on December 9th, 2009, more than 5 years ago, not a couple years ago.

Besides, it's a mere WR revamping of smc Pentax-D FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro, which was announced on August 8th, 2004, more than 10 years ago, the design of which occurred when Pentax was working on a digital 24x36.

See outlier. Sarcasm doesn't work here.

what? I would be surprise they label it as FA*, it's been a while FA* show up in lens line up...

anyway, well I hope you are right about this FF thing. maybe you can 'accidentally' forget to remove the exif data when you field testing a FF and post it online...

For the 24-70 range if this FF comes to fruition, doesn't Tamron and Sigma make something in this range that is FF compatible and in Pentax mount?

This is important lens for both FF and APS-C. In fact, it is 100-300 on crop, with a huge aperture.
However, it does not imply immediate 135 format camera being released. At least 2-3 more lenses are necessary to come with it.
