Either way, they are going to have a very nice 'pro' zoom lineup: 15-30, 24-70, 70-200.
What do they have planned for new fast primes?
If their Q strategy is any guide, they may not be in a rush to introduce new primes.
There's nothing on the current roadmap, and the D FA macros are already available.

Have there been any recent patents for FF primes?

The D-FA 100mm Macro WR is the newest FF prime and its 5-6 years old.

I would expect to see 3-4 zooms this year.

70-200mm
150-450mm

24-120 or 24-105 F/4 kit lens at launch.

Announce the 24-70 F/2.8 some time this year and maybe ship it by Christmas since it will the the other key pro-level zoom.

When did the FA 80-200 F/2.8 go out of production? Does anyone know?

Most lenses, if not all, will be out when the FF is out or very close to it.

How many lenses would that be? Are they going to have a kit 24-120 F/4 at launch?

I believe it is classified AW, which is a step above WR (All Weather versus Weather Resistant).

HD PENTAX D FA* 70-200mm f/2.8 ED DC AW
ah yes what I meant were the other upcoming lenses (24-70, 15-30, and hopefully the DA 12-28 for APS-C as per the new roadmap)

From the roadmap, 4 lenses are announced:

An APSC UWA like 12-28mm.
A DFA wide diameter 24-70 f/2.8 or something near to that.
A DFA 28-105 or something like that (to me this is the kit lense)
A DFA UWA

To me the urgency is to the 24-70 AND 28-105 available at the same time as the FF as they will be the zooms one will immediately buy with the camera (one or the other). The 2UWA can wait, in particular on APSC where there already an UWA zoom.

They have then the basics but need to release DFA primes and a few more zooms like a 70-300 f/3.5-5.6 to be equivalent of 55-300 but with FF support and if possible higher quality and a few primes (DFA24, DFA35, DFA50, DFA85, DFA135, DFA200, DFA300)...

I meant the ones you see on the roadmap. 24-70, 15-30 and 24-105. Im shure more will follow in the future. But no idea what..yet

The new strategy is clear. Pentax/Ricoh wants to go for the pro's..That will also reflect in the new lease lineup. You can see it on the new 70-200..its just WOW But do have in mind, that they will also continue with good aps-c cameras too.

DFA24 is the most important and should be released first. The FA35/2 and FA50/1.4 are back in production plus we have DA35/2.4, DA50/1.8, DA*55/1.4, DA*200/2.8 and DA*300/4 that are FF lenses, then all three FA Limiteds and DFA macros... The only serious gap in FF primes line is the wide end, cause they don't have anything wider than 31mm in production.

This is true but if we continue the "Pro" line that started with the 2 DFA zooms, FA35 f/2 really show its age and tend to be inferior to DA35 f/2.4 (softer on border even on APSC, more aberations) and anyway that's not f/1.4... There also likely a need for a 135mm f/2 that is not really necessary on APSC but might interrest some guys for portraiture as it would be a match more or less of 85mm f/1.4 on APSC.

I love my FA77 and this is great lense, but we potentially miss a low cost FF version and a high cost f/1.4 or even better f/1.2 version. As for the 50mm, I'am sure many would break their wallet for a 50/55mm f/1.2...

To me to justify FF existance, you should have lenses that really enable it. idealy we would have 3 lines entry level, ltd and DFA*, but that may take a while for sure.

The 31mm is no longer in production. They are selling existing inventory.

We need a whole new line of DFA primes, that's for sure, but I'm talking about what we need to get first to fill the obvious gaps. Fast DFA24 would be a good choice for both FF and APS-C bodies and IMO should be released right after f/2.8 zooms. Then maybe a DFA135 followed by rest of primes you mentioned.

Whatever. It's still in the current lens lineup.

+1 Nobody care of when was the previous batch. They would make a new batch only when they have no more available. And I think they pretty well know the buying rate from the past years, can anticipate that etc.

On the contrary until recently FA35 was no longer on the official lenses line meaning they where thinking to stop it. Now they decided to release an FF, they needed a 35mm prime in the line-up.

I guess that depends on where you live. Some retailers list it as "Discontinued". Digital Rev which ships globally lists both the 31mm and the 77mm as "Discontinued" and no longer sell the lenses. They only sell the 43mm currently. Retailers don't want to take on inventory of lenses that are going to be replaced next year.

All of the 645 lenses have been in production for years, but only 3 were available in North America until last year. Being on a lens road map and being available for sale are not the same thing. There are plenty of 31mm lenses in inventory in North America, but that doesn't mean they are available everywhere else. Since the 31mm has been "on sale" now since Photokina, it seem obvious they are clearing inventory for and updated replacement after the FF launches.

If that were true, major retailers would not list them as "Discontinued". They would list them as "Out of Stock".

Yep to most last posts here.
IMO they will first plug holes are urgently needed lenses: pro zooms, 24mm, 85mm, fast 35mm
Then adapt existing lenses to modern standards if optically good enough.
IMO cheap versions should be relatively urgent too 'cos it would stimulate FF sales, like Nikon, did with their f/1.8 serie.
