it's super heavy and huge !!! I tried it yesterday and I doubt that I can carry that thing around for one day @__@

I agree. I dunno about Nikon and Canon versions but I can say both DFA70-200 and DFA150-450 prototypes were both:

very sturdy
weighty

Don't even think about 50-135 as a comparison, the 50-135 really is a toy next to the DFAs.

Yes it is my buddy that was holding it, and indeed, he has pretty large hands...
The différence of DFA vs the sigma latest version is indeen substantial! the DFA looks like an uniform barrel ... I would compare it more with a DA 60-250 or 300mm, but with a larger diameter...

It's even 1,950g with the tripod collar and 2,030g with the hood attached. FA★ 80-200/2.8 ED [IF] weighted 1,510g and was shorter (195mm vs 203mm) and thinner (88mm vs 91.5mm).

I've said it before...
High performance FF zooms are big. I had a my time with a FF system, and as much as I loved the IQ, it was not worth the hassle factor FOR ME. If I got paid for my photography, this would be a no brainer.
But if you have never handled a FF DSLR, I would very strongly suggest that you rent a D750 + 24-70 + 70-200 for 2 weeks.

It's very large, positively drawfing the 60-250. I found it larger than I thought, though no larger than competing products from Canikon.

Since we are doing comparisons, I put together this table:

All the stabilised 70-200 f2.8's out there are basically in the same ballpark as the DFA in terms of weight and size - give or take 10%.

Thank you for your work. The Pentax lens is by far the heaviest: 24 per cent. heavier than the average of the four other lenses.

Note that there are some variables that can alter the weight specs and length dimensions a bit - like tripod foot on/off, hood on/off.

That also doesn't specify the level of weather resistance.. it may be more significant on the Pentax. At least I hope it is for the weight and price..

The bargain in that list appears to be the Tamron lens.
