Is there a 28-70 2.8 announcement that I missed? Personally I'm a lot more interested in the standard zoom...

+1 I would buy a 24-70 even if I stay with APS-C.

And no there has been no mention of it at all. But it will be there. you cannot launch a FF camera without it. I think: HD Pentax D FA 24-70 f/2.8 @$1,499.

hehe probably because red is like free advertisement for Canon...

"Hey nice Canon!"
"No it's a Pentax."
"A what? Dude why did you get a Chinese fake Canon knock off lens?"

Maybe 2 more new FF lenses in 2015 and 2 to 4 new FF lenses in 2016. This is apparently a line commitment and a total corporate effort, not just a one-off. So say a few here privately, anyway. I'm not inside.

One of them should be a * - level standard zoom, I should think.

The color rings are confusing. It wold be nice ot have an official statement about the color classification.

Yea probably it'll be launched alongside the camera itself... Pentaxisdoomed if they don't launch with a normal fast zoom, oh * too...

If your prediction is true, and it's a * lens with WR, then they would have significantly undercut Canikon..., which would be pretty sweet.

I suppose there ought to be some lower-end stuff too, like a D-FA J line (or would it be D-FA L?)

I don't think they will do that. There will be a consumer lens line, the da 35mm and da 50mm are already there. But I think it will be a separate line, not a reduced feature bargain lens.

I think:
28mm
35mm
50mm
24-105
28-80ish

It just occurs to me that for all those who disparaged Pentax as not having an upgrade path, they now have a path that exceeds Canikon
