Haven't been able to test it with the new firmware yet. I had only pre-production lenses. Sent them back. Waiting for the finished product.
ah so the lenses you had were not totally polished(for 36hrs ) ,so I guess the production ones will be even better

I was totally hurt with this Price.."

And that although it has been stated a zillion times here about the expected price.
You say it is too early to compare but you seemed (from your post) already made your mind for the Sigma.
Price of course is important but it seems for you the price is too high for the lens, which is impossible to say now (and for complete disclosure I will NEVER afford such lens so I'm myself included)
You are 100% right
It won't gonna happen again, I'm not here to argue .
Have a nice week!

From what I've seen so far, the 450mm f5.6 shots seem to be significantly sharper than the 150-500 at the long end. As compared to the 150-600, @500- 600 sigma is said to be soft, the AF is much faster on the pentax K3 combo as compared on the 150-600 on the Nikon (this was claimed by a forum member who played with both setups in an European camera show) We'll have to wait and see how the d-FA fairs with the 1.4 tc.

And don't forget that at f6.3 (or 1/3 stop of light less) which is the wider aperture of the other lenses, a high quality lens as it seems to be the DFA will give even more sharp and contrasty pictures...

OK, it's the 17th of April 2015, and according to the Japanese Ricoh site this is the date the DFA150-450 should "Come out". Is this still correct or does the site need updating? I'm eagerly waiting for the moment I can walk into my local B&M store and get my copy...

Yep. I'm the forum member. And I comfirm of course what I wrote earlier.
Both DFA's (prepro samples) were much faster than anything you remotely know about Pentax, a heavier too btw and the 150-600 I tried (no idea the version) on a Nikon body felt pedestrian (@600/6.3).

Real world tests will be more objective though. But I was very impressed. You know, we're talking about Pentax It was a bit hard to believe at first.
