that focus preset thing sounds incredibly cool. I'd like that retrofitted onto all my lenses, especially my 50-135 and 60-250, please.

Ha, B&H has listed these lenses as APS-C. Guess they haven't heard the news yet! Still stuck in the old age.

"** The PETANX K-3 is currently the only model to accommodate the AF button functions. To activate these functions, the camera’s firmware must be updated to the latest version."
Interesting. The rumoured firmware update upgrade?

And the disappearance of the PETNAX brand?

They mean exactly what is written - in order to use the AF button functions on that lens, you need a K-3 (or a future camera like the incoming FF).

I was afraid of that ... well, it will likely perform just as well (so to speak) on the K5 , presumably.

That is going to be the big question for me (otherwise I see little added value over the DA* 300 with converter). The converter is specified to work with lenses up to f/4 only, but AF isn't disabled if you mount a slower lens; it just becomes more hit-and-miss. I guess it'll depend on the intensity of available light.

This is the size specs from the article

Diam x Length
95 x 241.5 mm (3.7 x 9.5 in.)

Read more at: HD Pentax-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6 ED DC AW Reviews - D FA Zoom Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

By the way they describe it, it looks pretty compact. This goes to my wish list.
