Why ? I was hoping to get this new toy closer to the spec as indicated in the former rumours, meaning 120 – 380 mm, but specifically lighter - and optically superior of course !! - than the Bigma (50-500), which I already have.
My “ideal” zoom would be similar to the CaNikon version of 80/100 to 400 mm, with only 1.5 kg and not 2.5 kg. The Bigma is already (too) heavy (at 1.8 kg) for being always with me, hence the new zoom would be even more a burden to carry and use ?!?
I would have replaced the Bigma under those circumstances, but as the new zoom is heavier, and also some 4 cm longer, I might just stick with the Bigma.

Urs
But it may trash the Sigma IQ and Pentax exercise here is to appeal to Pros, IMO, without conceding much if at all.
Normal people (dunno about you I'm certainly very far from being Pro) like me will get something more affordable, later.

It is an "almost full frame crop lens".
