The old rule-of-thumb was to use 1/focal-length as the shutter speed, which
would argue for a shutter-speed of roughly 1/640. However, my experience has shown that Pentax's SR system
does buy some reduced shutter speed. Last month I was in San Diego visiting my daughter and took pictures using my Q-7 with its SR; I routinely was taking pictures with my 8.5mm 01 prime lens (35mm equiv of 39mm) at insane speeds like 1/15 (because of darkness inside old buildings), and I don't see any blur in these pictures. Of course, the Q-7 is "just" 12MP, which means I can't expect the kind of sharpness that you would expect from a camera with more MP, but even so I'm not convinced that it is unreasonable to expect SR to deliver reasonable pictures under the settings the OP used.
